Leather

Eco Vegetable Tanned Leather

Our Eco Leather comes from a fair-trade tannery in West Bengal, India. The tannery has developed a special natural recipe using vegetable tannins, which naturally occur in the roots, bark and leaves of many plants.

Weaving1

Handloom Weaving

Handwoven fabrics are soft, durable and breathable – many of these properties are due to the human handling of the yarn during the weaving process. Looms are operated and powered by hand or foot, so no electricity is required to make the cloth, resulting in the process being ecologically sound.

Canvas and Harris Tweed:

Lightly sponge clean with warm soapy water.
The canvas is unwashed and may fade over time.

Leather

Natural Leather will develop a lovely patina over time. Our leather is tanned without the use of harmful chemicals and has no synthetic top finish. This means that the true character of the leather will show through, revealing scratches and irregularities in colour and texture. The leather is sturdy and will age beautifully over time as it softens and deepens in colour. For upkeep and waterproofing, wipe products with a damp cloth to remove dust and grime. You can replace lost moisture and oils with a natural leather wax, balm or oil. Pure mink oil is commonly recommended, but Coconut oil also works well.
